Job Requirements

Minimum requirements for consideration include:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • No felony convictions
  • No Class A or B misdemeanors in the last five years
  • TDSHS certified ECA, EMT-B, or Paramedic
  • SFFMA or TCFP Basic Firefighter or higher
  • Ability to work a minimum of 48 hours per month. 2 x 24 hr shifts or 4 12hr shifts

Hiring Process

The hiring process includes:

  • Submit application with copies of all certifications
  • Background check including criminal history, credit, and driving record
  • Work and personal reference check
  • Panel interview
  • Chief's interview
  • Physical/drug test

Pay Scale

Pay is based on rank or step up rank for each 12 hour shift.

  • Officer - $125
  • Driver - $115
  • Firefighter - $105
